Regional Development Project for Poverty Reduction (Phase 1)

The Regional Development Project for Poverty Reduction (Phase 1) is a nationwide multi-sector development initiative implemented to improve standard-of-living indicators and accelerate economic recovery across regional Myanmar. Funded through Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) in partnership with national and regional authorities, the project targets vulnerable populations across all seven states and seven regions. By executing urgent rehabilitation and construction of critical local roads, bridges, rural electrification systems, and clean water supply networks, Phase 1 directly addresses foundational bottlenecks to regional commerce, market connectivity, and public health. This integrated infrastructure backbone enhances local accessibility, unlocks trade opportunities for rural farming communities, and establishes sustainable socio-economic development at the grassroots level.

Oriental Consultants Japan, a global consulting subsidiary, has driven Myanmar’s infrastructure development since 2014.
